In other words, this is the slickest (non-color) display available. The display is also removable for security issues as well. The bundled independent "Steering Wheel Controller" is also removable and can be positioned anywhere in the car, battery powered and wireless, it comes with a discrete rubber strap that can wrap around the steering wheel to hold the controller, or you can mount it flat on any surface, with it's mount allowing the controller to slide out for security issues when leaving your vehicle. I suspect most people will not be removing the display nor the steering wheel controller, but Parrot allows for the option to do so, I probably would not remove it other than if it was being parked for a long period of time somewhere I felt uncomfortable with, bottom line, it's a nice option to be able to remove your OLED display and controller.
